NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY
To explore new horizons and push scientific frontiers further, it is vital that our youth develop a passion for science. It is with this aim that Meenakshi Public School Sector 10-A Gurugram organized various events on National Science Day on 28 February 2018 in the school premises to commemorate the invention of the Raman Effect in India by the Indian physicist, Sir C V Raman.
Under the guidance and motivation of Ms Navina Das, Head of the Science Department, students of class VIII demonstrated a number of fun experiments to the students of primary wing. The budding scientists as mentors explained “Artificial Volcanic Eruption”, ”Elephant’s Toothpaste” and “How Carbon Dioxide acts as a Fire Extinguisher” to the inquisitives. Keeping in sync with the theme “Science and Technology for the Sustainable Future”, a number of activities like Book Mark Making, Badge Making and Poster Making were conducted for class III, IV and V respectively. The Principal, Ms Vipula Saxena told that science is a way of helping the brain grow in finding new knowledge and is the greatest collective endeavour.
